ASTi to Integrate SERA Solution into MPS Simulators

April 20, 2016

Groenekan, the Netherlands – Advanced Simulation Technology inc. (ASTi) will develop a Simulated Environment for Realistic ATC (SERA) solution for Multi Pilot Simulations (MPS). This solution will integrate with MPS's Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 flight training devices, providing a comprehensive communications environment and high-fidelity aural cue sound model.

SERA exposes students to real-world air traffic control, teaching them proper terminology through interaction with unique, realistic "human" voices. Recent SERA updates allow students to select and run predefined training scenarios through intuitive, web-based control pages. As a result, instructors no longer need to role-play air traffic control calls and can concentrate on the training focus throughout each session.

Before SERA, flight-training programs lacked the structure and tools to teach this critical aspect of daily aircraft operations. SERA integrates with all types of aircraft training devices, including:

  • Simple desktop environments
  • Part-task trainers
  • Flight training devices
  • Level D full flight simulators
