ASTi Upgrades Redstone Test Center and Aviation Flight Test Directorate

February 27, 2012

ASTi recently fielded upgrades to Telestra communications systems at the Redstone Test Center and Aviation Flight Test Directorate, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. These ASTi systems bridge live radio traffic to the Flight Test Control Center, and provide radio communications for 84 operators across 6 platforms.

Operators inside the Flight Test Control facility use radios connected to the ASTi systems to communicate with the live radios inside military helicopters. The ASTi Telestra platforms and URC-200 radios are installed in trailers allowing Flight Test personnel to relocate to remote test areas.

ASTi engineering staff performed the upgrades, and provided and provided a complete fielding services package, including: software upgrade installation, validation and testing between live radios and networked ASTi Telestra systems and a training course for new technical and operational staff.

The ASTi systems have been in operation for over 5 years and the continued support affirms ASTi's commitment to ongoing programs.
