ASTi is excited to announce the latest evolution of our simulation capabilities: human-wearable and vehicle-mounted solutions deployable to the tactical edge. Recent advances in networking and communications facilitate access to data beyond the boundaries of the IT enterprise. Wireless meshnet, 5G, and secure-cloud services expand ubiquitous, high-speed connectivity to even the most remote military test and training locations.
Technologies like Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE’s) deep-edge modules and batteries deliver vast computing power in a compact, rugged footprint with less size, weight, and power (SWaP). As a result, soldiers can experience mixed-reality (MR) training even under the most extreme conditions. MR devices like the Microsoft HoloLens™ and the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) goggles provide a sophisticated feature list, such as built-in head-tracking, spatial speaker arrays, and smart microphones.
ASTi is converging these technologies with our mature products to deliver next-generation, live training solutions to the tactical edge:
- Augmented-reality audio: ASTi generates and delivers physics-based, directional sounds right to soldier’s earpieces. These sounds track constructive simulation entities, overlaying immersive ground vehicles, aircraft, weapons fire, and detonation effects. This solution can support the Army Synthetic Training Environment (STE) Live initiative.
- Unified voice communications: ASTi’s Voisus product blends voice comms with live-synthetic training domains and connects them to any live, virtual, constructive (LVC) source. Create tactical radio-intercom-phone talk groups for instructors, range controllers/observers, command-center staff, and first responders. Extend tactical comms beyond the line of sight (LOS) via Radio over IP (RoIP), distribute networked radios to remote desktops and mobile devices, and control downrange radios from a browser.
- Simulated role-players: ASTi uses vanguard technologies like advanced speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech (TTS), and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) to automate interactive, constructive entities. Reduce the need for human role-players, and train any time, anywhere.
- Audio and voice capture/replay: speed up after-action review (AAR) production, accident, and incident investigation with ASTi’s capture and replay feature. Digitally capture, process, filter, and replay radio nets, intersquad talk, environmental sounds, phone calls, and intercom channels. Leverage ASR to automatically search for voice recordings and expedite AAR.
