RMF Support to be Added to IA

I/ITSEC 2015 | What's New

For more than 10 years, ASTi has provided information assurance (IA) solutions in support of U.S. DoD DIACAP (formerly DISTCAP) security processes. Our approach has always been to integrate security requirements directly into development, software release and product maintenance cycles. This, in turn, reduces customer costs and expedites the implementation of these important security measures.

Now, the DoD is moving from DIACAP to its new Risk Management Framework (RMF) which is based upon the security process of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). As our customers have come to expect, we are also transforming our support for these new IA standards. Our products (i.e., Telestra, Voisus, etc.) will move from their current DIACAP MAC III classification to the appropriate RMF Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability profile required for deployment on DoD networks in and out of the United States.

The new DoD RMF greatly increases the number of system controls and procedures required under NIST SP 800-53A definitions. With ASTi product recertification under these new controls, end-users will continue to benefit from our integrated IA solutions for years to come.
